Convert Word documents to clean Markdown

Developers and technical writers often receive content the other way around from how they work: a colleague drafts something in Word, but it needs to end up in a wiki, a README, or a static site that only understands Markdown. Retyping a long document by hand is not realistic, which is what Word to Markdown is for.

Upload a .docx file and the tool reads through it in order, turning headings into pound-sign headings at the matching level, converting bullet and numbered content into list items, and rebuilding any tables as proper Markdown tables with their rows and columns intact. The whole conversion runs inside your browser, so the document itself is never uploaded anywhere, whether it is a page or a hundred.

Check the result against the original, especially with heavily styled documents that use unusual paragraph styles or nested tables, since very elaborate layouts can be simplified in translation. For most reports, articles, and notes the output reads as clean, well-structured Markdown you can commit straight into a repository or paste into a Markdown editor. Going the other direction, Markdown to Word turns a .md file back into an editable document.
