Turn Markdown tables into a spreadsheet with real numbers

Markdown tables work well for quick reports and data notes, but they are still just text, and text tables cannot be sorted, filtered, or fed into a formula. This tool reads a Markdown file and turns every table in it into a spreadsheet.

You upload one .md file, and the tool scans it for tables and rebuilds each as a separate worksheet. Values that look like numbers, dates, or percentages are recognized and stored as such rather than as plain text, so a column of prices or dates behaves as it would if typed in by hand, ready for sorting, filtering, or a formula. Text that is not a number or date stays as ordinary text. If your file has several tables, each lands on its own sheet, so nothing gets squashed together.

Processing happens on the site's servers over a secure connection, and the file you upload is deleted within sixty minutes afterward. Formatting inside table cells, such as bold text or links, does not carry over, since a spreadsheet cell only holds a value. Only the tables in the file are converted; text outside a table is left out of the result.

If you need the whole document rather than just its tables, look at the site's other Markdown conversion tools instead. This one is free on a daily allowance, on any device with a browser.
