JSON to PDF

Turn JSON into a readable PDF: records become tables, nested data an outline.

Turn JSON into a readable PDF report

JSON is written for machines. When the same data has to be sent to a colleague, attached to a ticket or printed for a meeting, it needs a page layout. JSON to PDF renders a JSON file as a clean PDF document, with tables for tabular data and headed sections for nested data, in a typeface that covers every script, from Arabic and Hindi to Japanese and Thai.

Paste the JSON or drop a .json file. A list of objects becomes a table: the keys are the column headers, nested keys become columns such as address.city, columns are sized to their content, and long tables continue across pages. An object at the top level becomes a document: its simple fields form a summary table and each nested field becomes a section with its own heading. Short lists are written inline, longer ones as bullet lists, and null, true and false are shown as words in a distinct colour so they are not mistaken for text. Documents exported by PDF to JSON or Word to JSON render back as documents, with their headings, paragraphs, lists and tables.

The text in the PDF is selectable and searchable. If the JSON is not valid, the error names the exact line and column. For an editable file use JSON to Word, and for a web page use JSON to HTML.
