Convert a LaTeX file into clean Markdown

You have a .tex file from a coauthor or an old thesis chapter, and LaTeX commands are the wrong format for what comes next. Editing prose full of section markers and formatting commands is harder than it needs to be when all you want is readable text.

LaTeX documents that lean heavily on custom commands, complex math, or unusual packages convert with less precision than a paper built from standard sections, paragraphs, and citations, so it is worth skimming the output afterward for anything that needs a manual touch.
