A form scanned at an odd size may spill over the edge of a letter tray, or a document made for A4 might print oddly on legal paper. Rescale the PDF so every page fits the sheet you print on. Each page scales to fit while keeping its proportions, with leftover space filled as plain white margin so nothing stretches or distorts.
